FAQ

Clothing:

Our lake is normally very warm by the time the race rolls around each year. We allow people to dress for the swim portion however they see fit. That said, we do not recommend full length wet suits. Wearing a wet suit, You risk overheating during the swim. In the past, we’ve seen competitors swim to the shallows in order to strip off their suit. We will try to have lake temperatures posted throughout the time leading up to the race, including that morning. We urge everyone to use their best judgement regarding a warm water swim.  A farmer john or shorty is more than enough, and for some, that may feel uncomfortable.

Parking & Gear Drop-off:

Parking will be nearby at St Mary of the Lakes RC Church, 40 Jackson Rd. Medford, NJ 08055. Follow the signs BLCC Triathlon Parking. Its about 1/2 mile from the transition. Please do not park in the neighborhood. The Medford Police have asked us not to allow parking on the street.

For those that want to drop-off their gear before parking their car, please use the marked zone located at 55 North Lakeside Drive West.  A volunteer will be on hand to assist you in unloading your car before you proceed to park at the church up the road.

Awards:

Only the individual triathlon competitors will be eligible for age group and gender based awards. The medals will be presented during the BBQ portion of our event on our beach. You must be physically present during the ceremony to receive your award. Relay teams will receive overall medals only.

Race Day Swag:

Priority for swag will be given to those who preregister for the race, in a first come first serve manner.  We do our best to order enough cool gear for all our athletes but race day normally comes with it’s own surprises. In the past, we’ve handed out pint glasses, t-shirts, swim caps, and small towels. Every year is a little different.
